Granola Granola Granola May 26, 2007

I have eaten granola every day, twice a day, for the past 4 days. Mmmm.

Missed dance class. Again. But it was completely justified because I was at the end of year Rugby banquet, which was kind of awesome/suck. It was awesome because it was Rugby, and because all the people I love, and because I won most valuable forward, which was pretty cool. And we played tag in the play structure. But it was also lame because we didn’t get our sweats like we were supposed to (Cara said we would have them by our first game?) And it was lame because Jessamy didn’t get voted most improved player (like she did last year…and the year before that).

Got an email from Loggers and I got scouted at the Oregon vs. Washington game!

But I’m going to be in Japan during the game!  Alas.

So close, but will be so far away……

AP testing today.  The girl I sat next to finished 20 minutes early!  So unnerving.  But it was okay.  Krzenski brought us bagels.

But the real reason I’m posting is to ask for some ideas.   The annual end-of-year drama banquet is coming and this years theme is “Comic Books,” and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what I should be…

So far the best one is Leonidas.  That would be sweet.

Also no math tomorrow and no Japanese on Friday!  Woohoo!

I’m at my mom’s office with her because she has to work to get ready for a custody trial.  I think if I had her job I would be depressed all the time.  I’m in someones cubicle who likes wolves, Jesus, and the Eugene Symphony.

We has our Oregon vs. Washington game, and it actually went pretty well.  I mean, yeah we lost, but only because we didn’t score.  We had the ball on their side practically the entire game, they just got two lucky breakaways.  So we were the real winners.  I got my first rugby injury ever!  I’m so upset because whenever people said, “Wow, you play rugby?  Isn’t it too violent?”  I used to be able to say, “Well I’ve been playing for 3 years and I’ve never gotten hurt.”  I’m too tough to get hurt.  But I guess sometimes it just happens.  At least I wasn’t the girl who had to get carried off the field.  I kind of have a limp, it’s really lame.  But at least that was the last game so I wont miss out on anything.

Also, we went and recruited at Roosevelt last week and it made me really glad that I’m not in middle school.

Dinner with Mom, Dev, Edie and Chloe tonight.  Chloe is going to show me how to tie off my scarf!

Dance Class April 19, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — madeline rose @ 4:52 am

So, I had my first dance class today!  I can’t believe I’m actually doing it…but I totally can.  I have to have something else to keep me busy once Rugby ends.  Quarterfinals and semifinals are this weekend- possibly our last games.  Really depressing to think about.  But I’ll also have soccer to keep me busy.  I have to say, I catch on to sports much more easily than I do dance.  In dance everything has to be exact and in sports it’s much more decision making and gettin er done.

There are 6 people in my class (including me) and everyone’s in highschool except this one woman who is a college graduate and laughs all the time at everything.  I’m pretty sure the teacher is younger than her.  She’s awkward in a really comforting way.  And she’s taking a hip-hop class by herself with a bunch of girls.  That takes courage and confidence.

The class was really fun.  Even though I missed a day, I picked up on things fairly quickly, though I admit I did not manage to get into the right frame of mind to be completely involved.  Every once in a while I would kind of  get into it, then I would remember how funny it was that I was taking a hip-hop class and lose any focus I might have had.  I’m such a silly person!

So, although I’m making a fool of myself in the process, I’m trying to teach myself to be uninhibited and thuggin’ at the same time.

Hanging out with Ty right now.  He’s all smooth and puppy-ish with his new haircut.  Favorite seat partner got a puppy and he said I could see her sometime!  Her name is Cona and she’s a pitbull.  At first I thought he said Conan, and I got really excited, but then he was like, “No, Cona, it’s a girl.” I think I’ll go to Greenhill and visit the animals sometime soon.  I haven’t been there since..almost 2 years ago!  Wow.   Ryan did his Eagle Scout project there.  He used to always be there, and I’d be like, “What do you do at Greenhill?”  And he’d be like, “I build stuff.”  But he never mentioned it was for Eagle Scouts!  I just found that out a few months ago.  If I were in Eagle Scouts I would talk about it all the time.

My dads work gave him a “congratulations  on not dying” ipod.  I came in and he was watching Star Trek on it!  So cool, but I would be afraid that I would do that during my boring classes.

Monday again; slightly less painful April 10, 2007

Okay, things are looking better from last weeks entry.

Benjimonious and I are re-united in psych class!  Favorite seat partners forever.  One of the good things about sitting next to him is I get to steal his balla’ thug hats and wear them whenever I want.  Actually only during 6th.  I’m gonna have to get one for myself.  Yes, I will, and I’ll decorate it with rhinestones!  That is my next project.

Last Saturday was such an epic Rugby day!  So many little details, but here are the hightlights:

1. I met the girl who I sent to the ER.  I did NOT break her ribs, by the way.  I just bruised them and she’s up and playing again.  It was funny because when she first came over to us, she looked straight at Jessamy and said, “YOU sent me to the ER!”  It took us like, 5 minutes before we figured out it was actually me…

2. The last (most intense) game.  When we walked out onto the pitch the other team was already set up on the other side.  They start growling at us.  We start feeling kind of awkward.  Everyone just stands there for a while, they’re still growling at us, and the ref can’t find the ball.  Then the clouds come, the skies go dark, and heavy raindrops suddenly start to fall.  And then both teams get really loud, yelling at eachother and the rain.  Another minute.  The ref finally gets the ball, and the game starts.  So epic!

3. Rachel and I embarassing ourselves in the bathroom at Popeyes.

Easter: meh.  Woke up earlier than I wanted to, watched Matthew and Julia find the basket, and got in a fight with Devin (which sucks because we never fight) and then went to Seths house.  Seth’s house.  I won’t start, but it’s a beautiful place.   And I saw Dad, who might be coming home tomorrow?  I don’t know anymore, they keep changing it.  But I guess I’d rather have him be there until they know for sure he’s well enough to come home than have him come home and then have something go wrong.

Oh geez, gotta write an essay!

Painfully Monday April 4, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — madeline rose @ 5:44 am

It isn’t fair because it’s NOT Monday!

So today I slept in, was late to leave, hit my ankle on the screen door on the way out and bled all over myself, and then was 15 minutes late to English.  Not the best start.

When I came in Katie said, “Cute socks, but you’ve got blood all over them.”

Then in drama we had to pull numbers from a hat to see what order the groups would be performing in for lunchbox theater, and guess what?  My group got number one!  So lame.  We’re actually just barely memorized.  The drama department is full of procrastinators like me.  Maybe that’s why they like me?  But basically our scene is a joke and the second years are winning against advanced ensemble by a lot.

And I don’t sit next to my favorite seat partner anymore!  That’s probably the worst thing about today.  Because not only does that mean that we probably wont talk to eachother ever again, but it also means that I have to talk to other people in that class!  I never had to socialize in psychology.  Stupid seating charts.

And the other psych class got T-shirts made that say, “Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?”  I’m really jealous.

Oh and I left my contacts at home so I had to play Rugby blind today.

Today sucks.

But my dad might be able to come home from the hospital before Thursday!  Woohoo!

Mmm… March 24, 2007

One hour of sleep last night.  I should be asleep right now, but for some reason I’m putting it off…

Coast tomorrow!  Lynn is REALLY intent on me bringing Twister?  “Do you have the game of Twister?  Maddy has the game of Twister!”  I don’t even know if I do.  The game of Twister!   At least Rene isn’t going.

Oh yeah, that reminds me.  Because Rene’s real name is Milton, Hucks real name is Morgan!  Not because.  But you know.  I knew it wasn’t Huck.

Edie fainted today!  I feel like I should take better care of her.   She was going to come see Blast Wagon (who were pretty much the best there, really good), but she had to say home.  Next time.

And Emma and I discovered lick-tear.

Storm! March 18, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — madeline rose @ 9:45 pm

One of the Canadians was named Storm!  Isn’t that a cool name?  We nicknamed him Jeff, but who would call him Jeff when you could call him Storm?  And they tried to buzz his hair off last night!  But we didn’t let them.  But now all the Canadians are gone and it’s actually really sad.  They were all ridiculously nice.

Yesterday was such a Rugby day.  I scored a try!  We won 34-0 I think.  My favorite seat partner was there for a while.

And my Dad had a St. Patricks day party, that was pretty fun.

I’m doing everything I can to procrastinate writing my essay.  So it’s time to do that.
